Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026 · Available in English.

This Privacy Policy explains how BeamNG Mod Manager (“BMM,” “we,” “us”) handles information: the website at https://beamngmodmanager.com, and the BeamNG Mod Manager desktop app for Windows, wherever you got it (our website, GitHub, or the Microsoft Store). The website is covered first; the app has its own section below. BeamNG Mod Manager is an independent project and is not affiliated with BeamNG GmbH.

Who operates BMM

BMM is made and operated by NickTheGrizzly, an independent developer in the United States. You can reach us for any privacy request through our contact form or at [email protected].

What we collect

  • Analytics data — off until you consent. Google Analytics is delivered server-side through Cloudflare Zaraz — sent from Cloudflare’s edge rather than directly from your browser to Google — and no analytics data is sent until you choose “Accept” on our cookie banner. If you accept, Google Analytics uses a first-party identifier to distinguish visitors and collects standard usage data (pages viewed, approximate location from your IP, device and browser type, and on-page interactions) to help us improve the site. If you reject or withdraw, analytics stops and no further analytics data is sent.
  • Server logs. Our host, Cloudflare, processes technical request data such as your IP address and browser user-agent to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. This is standard for any website and is handled under Cloudflare’s own privacy terms.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email, or payment details through this website.

Cookies & local storage

  • Analytics identifier. After you accept, Google Analytics (delivered via Cloudflare Zaraz) may use a first-party identifier to distinguish visitors and measure usage. No analytics data is sent before you accept.
  • Functional local storage (bmm-site-theme, bmm-consent) stores your dark/light theme choice and your cookie decision on your own device. It is not tracking and is never sent to us.

You can change or withdraw your analytics consent at any time — this clears your saved choice, stops analytics, and shows the banner again:

Analytics & consent

We use Google Analytics 4, delivered through Cloudflare Zaraz — a server-side integration that runs from Cloudflare’s edge rather than sending data directly from your browser to Google. Because of this, your browser never makes a request to google-analytics.com. Analytics does not run until you accept: by default it is off, and no analytics data is sent. If you choose “Accept” on our cookie banner, analytics turns on and Google Analytics collects standard usage data as described above. You may accept, reject, or later withdraw consent at any time, and doing so has no effect on your use of the site.

Third parties

When you use certain features you interact with third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Google Analytics — usage analytics, delivered via Cloudflare Zaraz (server-side); runs only after you consent.
  • Cloudflare — website hosting, delivery, and security, including software downloads.
  • Patreon — our blog shows posts published on Patreon, and their images are loaded directly from Patreon’s content delivery network, so viewing the blog exposes your IP address to Patreon even without any action on your part. Separately, if you use “Connect with Patreon” on the Supporter Status page, Patreon authenticates you; this site then receives only your membership tier and display name to show your status, and stores no Patreon login or token.
  • Tally — our contact / bug-report form provider.
  • Ko-fi and social links (X, Twitch, Telegram) — external sites you may choose to visit.

In the desktop app

The app manages mod files on your own PC. It has no BMM account to create, shows no ads, and never collects your email address, payment details, or your files.

What stays on your PC

Your mod library and its details (titles, tags, ratings, notes, load-outs), your settings, and your driving stats are stored only on your computer, in your Windows user profile and your mod library folder. To show driving stats, the app reads the stats file BeamNG.drive keeps on your PC; if you turn on the live dashboard, it also receives the game’s live data over your own computer’s local network connection. None of this is sent to us. If you use one-click dashboard setup, the app changes BeamNG.drive’s own settings file only after you confirm, and keeps a backup copy first.

Anonymous usage stats (off unless you opt in)

If you turn on “Share anonymous usage stats” (during setup or in Settings → Privacy), the app sends a few events to our server: app launch (with the app version, Windows version, and display language), first-run completion, theme choice, which outbound link you clicked, and the steps of connecting Patreon. They are tied to a random install ID created when you opt in, never to your name or Patreon account. They never include file or folder names, mod names, or anything about your library. Turning the setting off deletes the install ID from your PC and drops any events not yet sent. The events are stored in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine, which keeps them for about three months.

Patreon (optional)

Premium features are unlocked by connecting your Patreon membership; using the app without Patreon is fully supported. When you click “Connect with Patreon,” you sign in on Patreon’s own website in your browser. Our server (license.beammodmanager.xyz) then receives, from Patreon, your Patreon user ID, your name as it appears on Patreon, and your membership status, and returns a signed license to the app. The connect check itself stores nothing about you on our server (the supporter wall below keeps its own cache). The app keeps your Patreon user ID, name, and license on your PC, plus a Patreon sign-in token encrypted with Windows’ own data protection. About twice a day, and when the app starts, it sends that token to our server so Patreon can confirm your membership is still active. Payment happens entirely on Patreon; we never see card or bank details. “Disconnect” in the app deletes all of this from your PC, and you can also revoke BMM’s access from your Patreon account settings.

Supporter wall

The app and website show a thank-you wall of Patreon members who choose to appear on it. It is opt-in: you’re only shown if you tick “Show my Patreon name and picture on the supporter wall” when connecting Patreon in the app or on this site. The wall shows your Patreon vanity name if you set one, otherwise your first name, and your Patreon profile picture. Nothing else is shown. To build the wall, our server keeps a cached copy of active patrons’ public Patreon display names, profile pictures and Patreon user IDs, received from Patreon. It records your consent only if you opt in, and only patrons who opted in are ever shown. You can remove yourself at any time in the app (Go Premium) or on this site’s supporter page, and you disappear from the wall within minutes on this website and within about an hour in other people’s open copies of the app.

Network connections the app makes

Each of these sends your IP address and the app’s version to the service it contacts, as any internet request does:

  • Our server (license.beammodmanager.xyz, run on Cloudflare): Patreon membership checks, the supporter wall, curated creator-support links, and usage stats if you opted in. When you check for mod updates, the app sends the BeamNG repository ID numbers of your mods so the server can look up their latest versions; it does not send file names or anything else about your library, and lookups are cached per mod, not per person.
  • Our download server (downloads.beammodmanager.xyz, Cloudflare R2): checking for new versions of the app, and downloading them when you choose to update.
  • The BeamNG repository (beamng.com): downloading mod updates, only when you click to update a mod you already have.
  • BeamMP (backend.beammp.com): the public list of BeamMP servers, when you open the Servers page.
  • Patreon: supporter profile pictures shown on the supporter wall, and the sign-in page when you connect.

Our server keeps short-lived request logs on Cloudflare for troubleshooting and abuse protection, deleted automatically after about a week. Each of these services is governed by its own privacy policy for the requests it receives.

How it’s protected

All of these connections use HTTPS. The Patreon sign-in token is encrypted on your PC with Windows’ data protection, and it never passes through your browser: the browser only carries Patreon’s one-time sign-in code back to the app on your own computer, and the app exchanges that code with our server directly. Each app release is published with checksums and signed; see our security page.

Removing your data

Uninstalling the app removes the program. Your library, settings, and stats remain in your mod library folder and in %APPDATA%\BeamNG Mod Manager until you delete them, so you can reinstall without losing your work. To withdraw from usage stats, turn the setting off; to remove your Patreon connection, use Disconnect. Since we keep no account for you, there is nothing else of yours on our side to delete.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. In the EU/EEA and UK these arise under the GDPR; in California, under the CCPA/CPRA (including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them). Because we hold almost no personal data about individual visitors, the most direct way to exercise these rights is to withdraw analytics consent and clear cookies as described above. For any request, contact us through our form.

Data retention

We keep no personal visitor data ourselves. Analytics data collected after consent is retained by Google under Google Analytics’ retention settings. Cloudflare retains request logs under its own policies. For the desktop app, opted-in usage stats are kept for about three months and our server’s request logs for about a week; everything else stays on your PC (see In the desktop app).

International visitors

The site is operated from the United States and may be accessed worldwide. Analytics does not run until you consent; if you consent, Google Analytics data (routed via Cloudflare Zaraz) is processed by Google and may be transferred to and stored in the United States and other countries.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
